Dear Sir or Madame,
We understand that you were most likely expecting a letter written in the singular form. However, we
like to stand out by doing things differently, so here it is.
Our names are Adriana and Patrícia — yes, there are two of us. We were both born in 1995 and have
been friends for exactly 20 years. 20 years! Despite having quite distinct personalities, which has
brought its own challenges to our friendship, our hearts and our love for the simple things in life could
not be more alike, and it is there that our worlds intersect so wonderfully. Actually, the truth is we
couldn’t be more different from one another. A beautiful complementary contrast, as we like to call it.
If Patrícia is the fire that makes life happen, Adriana is the calm that life needs to be sustained. If
Patrícia were an animal, she would be a tiger. Patrícia is independent, wild, and always ready to defend
what she believes in. On the other hand, if Adriana were an animal, she would be a butterfly. Adriana
is sensitive, delicate, and possesses an extraordinary ability for metamorphosis and acceptance. They
say opposites attract and complement each other, and we couldn’t agree more with the value of this
friendship.
Regarding our professional experiences, from a very young age, we both had the opportunity to work
with people and in customer service. Although we have worked in other professional fields such as
design and communication, it is in the day-to-day interactions with people, the discovery of new
multicultural environments, and the pursuit of life’s simple pleasures that we find ourselves investing
our time at this moment.
If there is something that unites us, it is the passion and dedication with which we commit to
everything we set our minds to; it is the desire to always learn more and to spread happiness and good
energy to those around us. It has always been this way, since we were kids. For 10 years, we were
scouts, participated in dance groups, and turned the world upside down to be able to share guitar
lessons together when everyone else had individual lessons. All of this because life was better when
we had each other's company. Indeed, happiness is only truly experienced when shared, isn’t that so?
As we had the chance to learn throughout our life and our group activives growing up, it is important
to be good as an individual, but you will never be the greatest unless you have others into
consideration.
