A private house in the countryside on the end he of Ashdown forest and 15 mins drive from Tunbridge Wells (50 mins train to central london) seeks a live in house manager and cook to assist with running the household, cooking and kitchen work. Working to manage two colleagues, a part time cleaner and full time gardner/ maintenance person.
The house is very active, especially at the weekends, with many visitors and often a very social atmosphere. Much quieter during the week when the house is not always occupied.
Duties will include driving (advanced and/or clean driving license needed), cooking, security when the owner is not in residence, and assisting with a busy home.
Other duties will include:
Babysitting and child care (14 yr old plus occasional visting grandchildren)
Personal assistant (domestic and bills administration/letters and errands)
Management of cleaning and grounds staff, and assisting in the house duties where needed.
Shopping / cooking / kitchen charge
Household and estate security
The applicant will be UK or EU resident with fluent English or English mother tongue. Non Eu residents and/or limited English language skills will not be considered.
A clean CV and personal references are highly important.
Past experience in private staff work is not critical and time on yachts / chalets / villas would be helpful.
The contract will be for 3 -6 months initially. Maybe extended to full time / permanent Position later.
